hummel transforms data and eases integration processes with AGETOR

hummel is a 100% Danish-owned sports brand with customers all over the world. In 2004 hummel’s German customers needed to start exchanging orders, invoices and other business documents in the EDI standard, HANCOM96. This EDI standard was not supported by hummel’s Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution, so they were looking for a ”translator” that could convert data from XML to EDI.

Converting data and managing input and output
AGETOR was chosen because of its ability to convert data back and forth between several different formats. However, hummel does not only use AGETOR as a translator. The solution also allows them to manage all inbound and outbound business documents, whether they need to be transferred via FTP, HTTP or e-mail.

Central monitoring
All data is retrieved and dispatched automatically, whether it needs to go in or out of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and the administrator monitors the entire flow from one central application.

Report generation and archive function
In December 2010 hummel upgraded to the latest version of AGETOR and received even more options. For instance, they are now able to design and generate reports as PDF, and now also have an archive function with AGETOR automatically storing all inbound and outbound documents. The archive function has a built-in search function which allows hummel to make search queries on order ID or invoice number, recipient name, etc.

Restructuring of IT department
hummel decided to upgrade AGETOR because they were facing a serious restructuring of their IT department. The restructuring not only concerned hummel, but the entire Thornico group of which hummel is a part. In the process, hummel’s IT department became responsible for the IT services of the entire Thornico group, which includes companies such as Thorco, West Star, Sanovo and Lactosan.
