AGETOR reduces the number of interest days on DONG Energy’s outstanding invoices

DONG Energy is one of Northern Europe’s leading energy enterprises and is headquartered in Denmark. The company has several large customers and due to very large invoice amounts it is especially important that invoicing is conducted flawlessly and quickly. 

DONG Energy’s challenges
Even minor mistakes in data processing may have severe consequences, and therefore the smallest decimal has to be correct when Dong Energy sends an invoice. At the same time, it is especially important that all invoices are sent in due time so that DONG Energy can keep the interest days to a minimum. Finally, DONG Energy wanted to send their invoices in an inviting layout, which was difficult to manage in their existing mainframe-based accounting system.

In order to comply with all these challenges, DONG Energy chose AGETOR Input/Output Management, which among other things ensures the validity of invoice information and that invoices are dispatched in due time.

AGETOR Input/Output Management allows DONG Energy to send documents in many different ways, such as PDF, e-mail, fax or via an electronic document portal where customers can log in and print their invoices. This ensures that their customers receive invoices and other documents in due time, even if one of the distribution channels fails. Even a one-day delay would result in a tremendous interest loss for DONG Energy, so it is crucial to have more channels to the customer, and the ability to resend a document with ease.

Thanks to this input/output solution, DONG Energy are able to present invoices in a layout that fulfills both their own, as well as their customers’, requirements. By using AGETOR’s visual designer DONG Energy can easily and quickly design invoices and other business documents in the layout of their choice.

DONG Energy has specific needs that are not included in a standard AGETOR Input/Output Management solution. For instance, DONG Energy needed to send documents in OIOXML, which is the predecessor of the standard, OIOUBL, and Bording Data therefore made the necessary adjustments to the solution in order to suit this special requirement.
